1987 ProCo Small Box RAT Distortion

ProCo Sound has been making the RAT distortion since 1978, and the Small Box RAT — produced in the mid-to-late 1980s — is widely regarded as one of the finest iterations of the design. Built with the LM308 op-amp and the component values that give the RAT its famously thick, compressed, harmonically rich distortion, the Small Box version is the one collectors and players hunt for. Versatile enough to go from light overdrive to a crushed wall of fuzz, with that unmistakably dark, saturated character that has appeared on countless landmark recordings. A genuine vintage RAT in very good condition.
