1966 Teisco EP-200 Del Rey Thinline Hollowbody

Teisco — Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company — was one of the great Japanese guitar manufacturers of the postwar era, founded in 1946 by Atswo Kaneko and Doryu Matsuda. Exported throughout the 1960s under names like Del Rey, Kingston, and Silvertone, Teisco instruments found their way into the hands of countless young players across the world, becoming the backbone of garage rock and surf scenes in ways that are still being felt today. The EP-200 Del Rey is a thinline hollowbody that captures all of that spirit — quirky and distinctly Japanese in its character, with a warmth and personality that has made these instruments increasingly prized by a new generation of collectors and players. This 1966 example is in very good condition for its age and has recently received a fresh re-fret, meaning it plays beautifully and is truly gig-ready. A rare and compelling find.
