1960’s Magic Flattop Acoustic

by Clingan Guitars

$400.00

A true oddity from the golden age of European guitar production, this 1960s Magic Flattop Acoustic was made in the Netherlands — a rare origin in a market dominated by Japanese and American brands at the time. Likely built by Egmond or one of the small Dutch workshops operating under OEM arrangements, it features a ladder-braced spruce top, stained maple back and sides, and a short-scale bolt-on neck. The tone is dry and woody with a charming honk, perfect for folk textures or lo-fi recording sessions.

This example has survived in very good condition, with light wear, no cracks, and a freshly set up neck that plays surprisingly well for its age. It’s a quirky, functional piece of European guitar history — ideal for players or collectors chasing the more unusual corners of mid-century acoustics.
This guitar is a great addition in anyone’s collection and with a fresh setup it is ready to go!
