Framus 5m652 1972 Red Burst

by Clingan Guitars

£1,418.00

A wonderfully weird and vibey vintage thinline, this 1972 Framus 5/165-52 features a hollow maple body, bolt-on neck, and a pair of original single coil pickups that deliver a woody, mid-forward tone with plenty of old-world charm. The German craftsmanship is unmistakable, with multi-ply binding, an ornate raised pickguard, and a satisfyingly chunky neck carve that sits comfortably in-hand. The red burst finish has aged beautifully with light lacquer checking and patina on the hardware, giving this one a ton of vintage character without feeling fragile.

Tonally it’s jangly and raw, with a percussive response that's right at home for garage, psych, or lo-fi indie applications—there’s just something about these old Framus pickups that doesn’t exist in modern builds. It’s a true time capsule with a fresh re-fret and an inspiring playability you don’t always find in guitars from this era.
This guitar is a great addition in anyone’s collection and with a fresh set up it is ready to go!
