1972 Gibson ES-150DC
£5,710.001 of 2410 in the world
A collector-grade example of a 1972 Gibson ES-150DC, this hollowbody is a standout piece for jazz aficionados and vintage enthusiasts alike. With its fully hollow maple body and 70s humbuckers, it delivers that unmistakable Gibson warmth—clear, rounded highs and a focused, woody low-end. Perfect for articulate chord voicings and smooth lead work. The original finish is amazing for its age, and the neck shows only the most tasteful playwear, with a silky smooth feel that's a joy to navigate.
Ideal for players chasing authentic jazz tones and collectors after clean, original examples, this ES-150DC has a few unique marks that tell its story: a faint signature on the top of its original owner (originally in gold leaf but since removed). The frets are in fantastic shape (re-fretted by use around 1 year ago), and all electronics and hardware are original and functioning perfectly. Unlike others it comes with original GIBSON embossed pickups that are hard to come by, and almost unheard of on this model. It comes in a period-correct hardshell case (non-Gibson) that came with the guitar. This guitar is a great addition in anyone's collection and with a fresh set up it is ready to go!
Its original owner was an Italian man from Calabria that bought the guitar in 1974, he babied it ever since. 2 years ago it was passed on to a jazz guitarist studying at the VCA and it too was exceptionally cared for.
